Undergraduate students

My lab welcomes UCLA undergraduate students to join and have me as their advisor or mentor. By joining my lab, you will be able to hone your craft in programming with data, including remote sensing products and Earth system simulations, and follow scientific frontiers associated with climate change, ecosystem dynamics, and the well-being of human society.

UCLA undergraduate students who are interested in joining my lab are encouraged to send me a cover letter describing their research interests and the reason why they want to join this lab. A CV is desired but not required. UCLA undergraduate students are eligible to earn research credit after joining a lab as per the instructions from the Undergraduate Research Center.

Graduate students

My lab welcomes self-motivated students who are passionate about scientific research questions from a broad field of ecosystem ecology, Earth system science, atmospheric science, physical geography, data science, and public health to apply for our graduate programs at UCLA Geography Department, which admits Ph.D. students each year. The official deadline for application is December 15th. Please send me your CV for inquiries about current research projects and interests in the lab.

Postdoc

At this moment, I do not have any available postdoc positions in my lab. Future opportunities will be posted here. If you feel strongly interested in working with me, please do not hesitate to email me to discuss how we can work together to apply for external postdoc fellowships (e.g., the UC Presidential Postdoctoral Program, NOAA Climate & Global Change Postdoctoral Program).
